Nexans Aurora is delivered

We are proud to announce our ST-297 CLV design Nexans Aurora was handed over from the shipyard to the owners yesterday. The vessel was delivered on the contractual date, which is impressive in these COVID-19 times. She will be named in a ceremony in Ulsteinvik on June 8.  The vessel will be laying in Ulsteinvik the next couple of weeks to mobilize and train crew for the up-coming cable laying operations. Her first job will be installation of deep-water cables in Greece following by installation of export cables at the Seagreen wind farm offshore Scotland.

“This is a memorable day for the project team and for Nexans and I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this project’s success,” said Nexans’ project manager, Frode Beyer.

The ST-297 CLV is a bespoke cable layer designed to the requirements from Nexans based on nearly 50 years of experience with Nexans Skagerrak. The vessel is a DP3 vessel outfitted for power and fiber cable laying, including bundle laying, jointing and repair in addition to cable protection and trenching.
