Code of conduct
1. Introduction
Skipsteknisk has stipulated principles for business ethics that Skipsteknisk requires that both suppliers and partners to accept and comply with (hereinafter “the Code”)
The Code applies to all companies providing products and/or services to Skipsteknisk, jointly referred to as “Suppliers” below.
Suppliers shall act in accordance with The Code. Suppliers are liable for ensuring that their employees, and those of potential sub-contractors engaged in the delivery to Skipsteknisk, haver read, understood and undertaken to comply with the principles of the Code.
Where Suppliers uncovers non-compliance with the Code Skipsteknisk expects Suppliers to improve the conditions. If repetitive breaches are uncovered or the Suppliers is not willing to improve the conditions Skipsteknisk may terminate the collaboration with the Supplier.
2. Our vision, values and leading principles
Skipsteknisk’s vision is to be the leading ship designer, who through skilled and dedicated people creates the best and most functional ship design. Our history and culture make it natural for us to set high and ambitious goals. We aim to be the best in our field and give our customers the best product there is.
Skipsteknisk’s mission is to offer independent high standard ship design and consultancy services within our segments.

3. Definitions
With fundamental human rights means the international recognized human rights that are enshrined, among other places, in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights of 1966 and the ILO’s core conventions on fundamental principles and rights at work.

- Freedom of Belief and Religion
- Freedom of association and right to collective bargaining
- Right to vote
- Freedom from discrimination, including but not extended to
- Rase
- Sex
- Religion
- Language
- Sexual orientation and gender identity
- Equal pay for equal work
The list is not exhaustive.
With Decent working conditions means work that safeguards fundamental human rights and health, safety and environment in the workplace, and that provides a living wage.
4. General Principle
Suppliers and sub-contractors are as a minimum obliged to respect and comply with the laws and regulations that apply in the countries where they conduct business. Where there is conflict between the laws and regulations in the countries where the Suppliers and sub-contractors conduct business and the Code the strictest rule shall apply.
Skipsteknisk has a clear aim to have a high ethical standard in our business. We demand that our Suppliers respect fundamental human rights and the rights to decent working conditions.
Suppliers, sub-contractors, and their employees shall act with integrity, be fair, honest, and trustworthy. Suppliers are responsible to assure that they are not supporting actions involving fraud, corruption or breach of fundamental human rights and the rights to decent working conditions.
Suppliers shall behave with respect for both people and environment. The Suppliers must act in such manner that the employees, partners and stakeholders have trust in them.
Suppliers shall be loyal to Skipsteknisk and keep Skipsteknisk’s best interest in mind.
5. Notification
5.1. Breach amongst Suppliers
If a Supplier uncovers actual or potential adverse impacts on fundamental rights and decent workings
conditions, or breach of the Code within its own business or sub-contractors the Supplier shall notify Skipsteknisk. The orientation shall contain information regarding actual or potential adverse impacts/the breach and information regarding the measures the Supplier has taken to stop, prevent or limit the adverse impacts.
The orientation shall be sent by email to Managing Director Hans Ove Holmoy, hoh@skipsteknisk.no
5.2. Breach amongst Skipsteknisk
If a Supplier suspect actual or potential adverse impact on fundamental human rights and decent workings conditions, or breach of the Code within Skipsteknisk or Skipsteknisk’s suppliers or partners, the Supplier shall notify Skipsteknisk.

The Transparency Act
In accordance with the Norwegian Transparency Act, we carry out due diligence assessments in our own operations, in the supply chain and business partners.
