Launching of "Jocelyn Bell Burnell"
We are proud to announce the official launch and name of our latest design, the ST-366 “Jocelyn Bell Burnell”, developed for AFBI. Named after the renowned astrophysicist behind the discovery of pulsars, the vessel reflects our commitment to exploration, innovation, and excellence in marine research.
The ST-366 design is a multipurpose Fishery and Oceanographic Research Vessel designed for Owner AFBI(Agri-Food and Bioscience Institute) located in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The vessel is Yard no. 150 at Astilleros Armon in Vigo, Spain.
The vessel has a length of 52.8 m, a beam of 14 m. and is arranged for 12 crew and 12 scientists.
It is further arranged with a hybrid propulsion system based on batteries and diesel generators.
