New Leinebris on its way home

The Owners has now taken over the unique boat and is sailing Leinebris home to Norway.

Leinebris in the sea on the way home

This marks the end of an extensive construction period at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.

-We are very pleased with the cooperation between the shipyard, suppliers and designer Skipsteknisk, and look forward to getting Leinebris into fishing, says shipowner and board chairman Åge Uran, who has followed the construction process closely and spent much of the last two years at the shipyard.

Over the past week, crew, partners and family have been on hand to send the future-oriented fishing boat home.

Sustainable Norwegian fish

It is clear that design, both exterior and interior, has been the focus of the new Leinebris, which is 67.30 meters long and 15 meters wide. "Sustainable Norwegian Fish" is written in gold letters on the black side of the ship, reflecting the shipowners' razor-sharp focus on sustainability and quality. The line hook glitters in gold at the front of the bow.

-As the fifth generation of line fishermen, we are proud to build for the future and carry on our history, says owner and CEO, Paul Harald Leinebø.

Through sustainable fishing and good management of resources, the owner's association wants to inspire innovation and contribute to Norway as a seafood nation being a role model.

Unique combination vessel

The new Leinebris will be the first vessel to combine both line, purse seine and net, as well as a factory for fillet production. The new Leinebris is equipped with a large battery pack and three generator sets for diesel-electric propulsion. Innovative features include Azimuth thrusters in the stern and bow for more efficient energy use and maneuvering, and the boat has electric deck equipment and winches. Double cargo decks, covered work decks and a dragon well ensure the safety of the crew. Silage production ensures that all fish that come on board are fully utilized. The new vessel will also have RSW tanks, so that the fish can be pumped alive on board.

-All the innovations make this a very extensive project, which thanks to good cooperation between all parties means that we can now take home an absolutely fantastic boat, says a satisfied Uran.

Norwegian equipment

Although the new Leinebris was built in Turkey, it is equipped with equipment from Norwegian suppliers, such as Brunvoll, PAM Ref., Mustad, Evotec, Storm, Cflow, Florvaag, Pelagia, Sunncom and Smådal Mekaniske. Also eqipment from Yanmar, Siemens and Carsoe.

The shipping company does not hide the fact that it is challenging to lift a new building in times of quota cuts and high prices, but that restructuring is necessary to survive in the long run. They are positive and ready to roll up their sleeves.

"We would like to thank all our partners and the banks who have believed in us and made this possible.

The fact that we have so many young and talented people in Leinebris, both on board and on land, makes us motivated and equipped for the future" concludes Leinebø.
